At a "scarves or hats," party, Sakshi Giri's pick was a scarf, that she wore with a billowy asymmetrical black tank and a lemon yellow pleated maxi skirt.

Love how the separates were put together considering her body type and all brought together with chunky gold earrings and a fringe day clutch. Perfecto! Not a thing I'd change about this look!

It's Poppin!

Three ways to wear  "The Red pant," with a black counterpart.

 

To run everyday errands and grab a cuppa while you're at it; something practical yet stylish-  a black tank with a military vest and cut out chunky shoes.

 

To lounge around at home in; something slouchy- a tank, 2 times larger than your size and neutral brogues

To make a statement in- a black tank to layer, a fitted red blazer, red patent leather pumps and a choker to pull everything together. With a "poppin," outfit like this, everything else has to be left natural- simple hair and basic make up.

When Sexy meets Conservative

With this outfit, I got back to my comfort zone. The 'mini.'

Everybody has that one 'ugh spot,' that's impossible to get rid of. For me, minis provide the temporary liposuction that draw the attention off my 'ugh spot,' (read- when worn right!) while also making me feel confident.

PS- The length of a "mini," differs according to body types. People who are relatively bottom heavy might  have to add a few inches to the length of a "mini," worn by the lucky few with long and lean legs. Be wary!

While fringe detailing dates a mini skirt, it craves for a demure, lady like and conservative complement (read- a fitted white button down) to marry.

When worn with sand colored wedge booties with  'cow girl detailing," the ensemble emanates an 'uptown,' girl vibe.

"Raw" - "Chigurupati," by Priyanka

Outfit # 2

With fashion, I've always been a risk taker. So through "Raw," I've put together two separates- a cropped top and a below the knee A line skirt, into one complete outfit.

I wore it the way it is to a "sun down,"party that started right when the sun was preparing to retire for the day. This was a 'toned,' down outfit (pastels and nude tones throughout) for me considering that most of my ensembles have a statement or two or more. ;)

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, all my designs are about versatility that add worth to your buck. So, check out how I made more use of the "Raw," skirt.

For the day, I layered a beige tank with  military jacket to toughen the look. The brown bucket bag and tan flat wedge shoes in earthy tones added to the 'day,' element.

For the night, I threw on a sheer black tank and cinched it with a waist belt. What really apmed up the look was the statement Murano glass necklace and heavily kohl rimmed eyes. The T-strap sandals added the right amount of bling, while the gold on it  blended in with the gold on the necklace.

Phew! :)

No frills, no fluff

The trick behind having an individualistic style is to try everything that you might think might work.

For a wedding I went to recently, I tried my luck by fusing Spring 2012’s “neon,” trend into Indian clothing. Speaking of Indian clothing, I know for a fact that I was not made for the super traditional looks….at all! 

(Read- Dress for your body type!) I always favor Georgettes, Chiffons and their derivatives.  This time, I tried wearing a “no frill or fluff,” neon parrot green saree with a purple polka dot blouse (remember “ThePassion Dress?”). 

Again, on paper, I never thought it would work but,

 

Not too bad huh?

A long gold necklace with vintage stones added more of a contrast so I kept my hair simple and make up, natural. :)

Done and done!

Peter pan wears a pencil skirt

Named after the collar of the costume worn by actress Maude Adams (below) who played Peter Pan in 1905, the Peter Pan collar has since been embraced by women all over. Including me of course. Duh!

So, when a billowy Peter Pan collared top is worn with a paneled pencil skirt, it looks like....

I was wearing this outfit to a work dinner so I kept the outfit monochromatic. A slight deviation in color came from my belt which helped create a lady like silhouette and my envelope clutch in a yummy shade of maroon. Basic black pumps, just as basic as my hair and make up completed the look. 

Professional yet 'ready to go out,' in!

P's tip-  Invest in a peter pan collar necklace! So easy to wear it with even a simple tank to 'dress up,' a look.
